HappyDayz! app good for
After waiting for over a year (since iPhone launch and switching from PALM) I finally found one of my alltime favourites REBORN here at the iPhone: HAPPYDAYZS!
Within a single touch it gives you all birthdays and anniversaries in a beautiful, simple user interface. Don´t miss any birthdays from your friends and brothers and sisters (in law)! - get this app, you won´t regret it! Still not as powerfull as the original PALM application, but the author is very keen to add a few more things. Thanks for an outstanding iPhone app!!!
I really enjoy the interface of this app. Its clean and simple. The only thing I would like to have as a feature is the ability to add birthdays and anniversaries beyond the Address Book entries. I have a lot to keep track of and usually many are more than the one entry (like one family as 4 children) that the Address Book provides. Also, it would be great to have an alarm that allows a warning that a birthday or anniversary is coming. In this hectic life, I need all the reminders I can get.
Great application with potential.
Allows Quick Views as to upcoming birthdays. Would like to see other events that can be added. It would be nice to have All upcoming events in one app.
This is a great tool, does just what it says it will do. It exceeds the old Palm app in appearance. But it lacks the ability to sort by Name, Date and Age (currently it only sorts by Date). Give me that, and you get your 5th star. :) And thanks for the great app!
I have one other minor point to make, but it should not be taken as a negative comment on this particular tool, as other apps suffer from the same problem. I wish apps would have a "Settings" button in them to either take you directly to Settings off the Home Menu, or take you directly to that programs settings. Its a little annoying to have to exit out to the menu, select Settings, select the app you were just in, and so on. And if you were doing that to change Sort options (please! please!), it would painful indeed to keep switching back and forth.
Great app; would like to see an application icon badge gives you a visual constant reminder
throughout the day and is updated each time you run the application
I really like this app but still forgot a bday because I didnt open the app today. I wish it had a symbol (badge) appear when an event is on the current day as a reminder to open the app and see whose bday it is.
Some bad moments
The original app with the same name that ran on the Palm was quite powerful. I wrongly assumed that this would be the same. While it does gather all Birthdays/Anniversaries from all contacts at one place, it does not parse Notes field for predefined patterns (like the original Palm app did). This makes it hardly more useful than Calendar and groups. Ability to put a bunch of dates in one contact would be really neat since you can create one entry for say an entire family (kids birthdays, anniversaries etc)
Just what is says....IT READS entry dates FROM contact/address book. No options for DIRECT entry from application itself.
This app needs to have a few options in looking forward or even backwards. Say a 30, 60, 90, and 1 year period. It also needs to allow to enter data like a person has an Uncle and Aunt. You can not enter both Birthdays in one calender contact and I do not need them listed twice just for their birthdays or anniversary. Make these two changes and quickly before anyone one else and you will earn your money for sure.
The lay out and functionally were well designed. Seemless sync with contacts when you open the app for the first time.
It does how ever lack a little compared to other apps. It does not provide reminders and countdown for use holays or interface with Facebook like other apps. These functions are very important to me so I will continue to use the apps until this one has been updated. At that time I write a new review and give it five stars.
App does not allow birthday entries without year of birth. There are many birthday Id like to keep track of where I dont know the year of birth, like co-workers. Very disappointed with this app!!!!
